Biography

Elleny Gherghe is a visual artist currently living and working in Sotogrande, Spain. Her relationship with painting began in her early childhood, during which time she discovered her closest surroundings in her picturesque hometown, Comanesti, Romania, and established a relationship with the beauty of nature that surrounded her, which she began to capture in oils on canvas. canvas.

After graduating from the National School of Art, George Apostu, in Bacău, Elleny studied from 2013 to 2016 at the National University of Arts, Decorative Arts and Design in Bucharest (Romania), graduating in 2016 with a specialty in mural painting. .

The main themes and sources of inspiration for his works reflect the perfect harmony between the beauty of nature and the human figure, through his experiences and emotions.

Her style is realistic with a surreal influence, the works have a romantic, poetic atmosphere, shrouded in mystery, which gives rise to the privilege of the viewer conceiving a story when experiencing the work, different from the one originally created by Elleny.

In the words of Elleny for the Ateneu Culture interview:

“I believe that the beauty of my creations is revealed in the symbols and the stories behind each one of them. Each viewer could see a story that may be completely different from mine or other people’s perception.

While I always like to tell my side of the story for each painting, I would like each new person to see my creations with a different eye. Therefore, I invite people to look at my art as deeply as possible and try to imagine their own version. In doing so,
they will also discover the more or less hidden elements and symbols within my paintings and will be able to find their own interpretation of why they exist there.
